Why did you make this software?

 I've taken everything that ever annoyed me about CAM tools, and wrote a CAM tool to get rid of them all!

• Hard to use tools. Buggy tools, 

• Cloud-based tools.  

• Expensive tools

• Tools that don't let you select the regions you want to pocket correctly.

  • To select holes, you needed to twist the 3d view to select all the inside edges!  Why not just click on the hole ?!!

I also wanted:

• Easy-to-select regions for tooling operations.

• GCode that works on any machine. (No curve problems in GRBL due to High I values).

• Optimal Tool Paths : no CNC wasted movement from one side of the workpiece to another.

• Tabs to hold down cutouts.

Will the GCode work on my CNC machine?

Most likely!  Only the very basic GCode commands are used to ensure all CNC machines will work.

Does GatorCAM need internet?

No.  You do not need internet to run.  You will need to receive a "purchase key" via email.

Will my GatorCAM 'key' ever expire or cease to work?

No. If you get a new computer, or if you need to install on another machine, you can always email GatorCAM@myyahoo.com for a new key. No problem.  I understand people might have a computer in their garage where their CNC machine is, and other computer in the house etc.  I will have your email address when you purchase, so I can give you another key(s).  This will work even if I die (I have other humans to help!).

Can I get upgrades for free?

For any purchases up to now, yes.  If I change the policy, and you purchased before I changed the policy, you will STILL get a free upgrade! I'm working to get V-Bit carving now and results look great! Update : V-Bit carving is now ready!.  Now I'm working on Automatic Tool Changes! 

Why is GatorCAM so inexpensive? Many CAM tools cost hundreds, even a thousand dollars!

I'm really bad at advertising and marketing!  I love programming!  I hope people will enjoy my software.  I would like to make a little money (my kids are going into college.)

Will GatorCAM run on my old PC in the garage?

Most likely!  I have even tested with old laptops Windows Vista+ with low RAM etc.  They worked perfectly!

Who are you?

I'm a 3d graphics programmer.  I enjoy hobby CNC, programming, electronics, gardening, and rain harvesting!
