Session Description:
This presentation will provide attendees with a basic understanding of how to use MagicSchool AI to aid with caseload management and specialized instruction. Some Magic Tools that will be discussed include the social stories generator, YouTube Video Questions, YouTube Video Summarizer, Worksheet Generator, Song Creator, and more. The goal of the presentation is to introduce attendees to MagicSchool AI tools and guide them through the creation of meaningful materials to use with their students immediately. The target audience is speech-language pathologists and special education teachers who desire to learn how to save time while create engaging, relevant, goal-related, and standards-based lessons easily with the support of MagicSchool AI.

Michelle is a speech-language pathologist with 17 years of experience working with students birth-22 years. Michelle's passion is serving students with neurodiverse needs. She holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction and maintains ASHA CCC accreditation.

Angie, a speech Program Specialist in Cobb County Schools, is an experienced and passionate speech-language pathologist with 25 years of experience working with students with complex communication needs and AAC in the school setting. She holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction and maintains ASHA CCC accreditation.

Session Description:
This session will assist teachers, speech therapists, paraprofessionals, and support staff who use various curriculums to create meaningful instruction, engagement, and assessment for all students. Learn how to engage students of varying ability and access levels in meaningful classroom instruction. Facilitate communication, increase independence, and functional success for all students. The target audience includes professionals working in classrooms with both students using AAC and speaking students with mild to severe intellectual abilities. Stop taking meaningless data for the sake of taking data.

Jennifer has served as an Assistive Technology Implementation Specialist for over 20 years for school age children grades PreK- HS. She provides training, work with support staff, parents, and teachers to assist with classroom AT implementation throughout the school year. Jennifer began her career as a special education teacher starting as a preschool special education teacher moving into the elementary self-contained classrooms setting for students with Autism, and moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
Julia Howard
Julia is a licensed speech language pathologist working as an Assistive Technology Specialist for Fulton County Schools. Her role focuses on implementation of communication devices for students of all grade levels. She received her bachelor's degree from Armstrong State University and her master’s degree from Florida State University in communication sciences and disorders.

Medicaid waivers in Georgia can provide a variety of supports for students transitioning out of the high school setting who wish to remain at home or achieve greater independence in a residential setting. Recent changes in policy have also included funding for a variety of assistive technology! Join in as we explore a variety of questions: What are Medicaid waivers and what do they provide? Who is eligible? How is this related to assistive technology? Other resources available through the state will also be discussed.

Mastery of Assistive Technology: What Have We Learned So Far? - The Clubhouse
Session Description:
This session presents findings of several research studies of mastery of Assistive Technology including employment, K-12, people with physical disabilities in those with blindness & low vision. Participants will be invited to do a self-evaluation of their personal mastery of a particular AT solution using the updated Continuum of AT Mastery (CATM) instrument. A discussion of applications for this approach to measuring AT Mastery will follow.

Dr. Ben Satterfield is a Research Associate with the Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has worked in the field of AT since 1983. Ben‘s research focuses upon outcomes of AT use, mastery of AT, and enhancing literacy skills of people with IDD.
