The Castalia Prairie region is of note because it is one of the only prairies left in the northern part of the state of Ohio. The photos below are from the pool in the photo above 4/06/2020.

The pool below is not a temporary one. What formed it I have no idea but in spring it is quite deep, 2 meters or so, but since it has an interesting collection of gastrotriches it is included here. 7/07/2020

This is one of the only two areas in the state the beautiful White Lady Slipper Orchid grows.
