Padre Island Beach Lines

Padre Island Beach Lines is a collection of 20 images developed from photographs taken on the beach at the Padre Island National Seashore near Corpus Christi, Texas. This black and white collection shows the art of plant life in the form of the remains of beach plants growing on the island. Most of the images are of the dead vines of the beach morning glory, Ipomoea pes-caprae. Beaten by storm tides, the remains of the morning glory are strewn across the beach in beautiful curving patterns. In some cases the dead roots are still attached to the stems. Parts of other plants, mostly unknown, as well as other flotsam are incorporated into the images. The varied patterns of the background sand are apparent in many of the images.
