This was my first experience doing a demo teaching, and overall, it was a good experience for me. Before the demo, I made sure to prepare everything I needed, like my instructional materials (IMs) and my lesson plan. I also double-checked everything to make sure there were no mistakes. I even practiced how I would teach the lesson, step by step, so I could be ready.
Even though I practiced, I still felt nervous because I know I'm not yet fully confident when it comes to teaching or speaking in front of a class. At the beginning of my demo, I stuttered a little because of nervousness. But as I continued, I tried to calm myself down and slowly build up my confidence. I just focused on doing my best—and I think I did a good job overall.
Mr. Clave said that my demo was good. He told me that my voice was loud and clear, and that is one of the important things a good teacher should have. That made me feel proud, and because of that, he didn’t even let me finish my demo. I think it meant that he already saw what he needed to see.
It was really a good experience because I felt like I improved a lot, especially compared to when I used to just report in class. This time, I saw that I was able to handle it better. I hope that in the future, I will continue to improve and become even more confident in teaching.
