Sponsored by Henry G. Fix Post #23, the American Legion program is a cornerstone of youth development in Garretson. These teams bridge the gap between youth leagues and high school athletics, offering a higher level of competition and fostering a sense of service and sportsmanship.
Senior Legion: For older high school athletes (ages 18 - 19).
Junior Legion: For developing players (ages 15 to 17).
14U Legion: For developing players (ages 13 to 14).
Legacy: Post #23 is dedicated to providing quality uniforms, coaching, equipment, tournament fees and a competitive environment for every player.
Who do we play?
14u Legion and Junior Legion teams participate in the I-29 league playing other teams on the eastern side of South Dakota.
Senior Legion games are scheduled against other Legion teams in the area.
Post Sponsorship of other Youth Teams:
Each year, the Henry G. Fix Post #23 proudly sponsors youth teams for state tournament competition. While the American Legion program is reserved for the 14u level and above, the Post ensures younger athletes are supported by sponsoring the 8u, 10u, and 12u divisions in the VFW state tournaments.
In recent years, this sponsorship has served as a catalyst for local talent; it has empowered players from the Garretson Ball Association’s recreational leagues to form competitive travel teams that now compete in tournaments throughout South Dakota.
