Garmin Fenix 6 Pro WORK

Is this the first time you have suffered this problem with your watch or have you already had it with some other firmware versions?

Hi, I have a strange issue. All updates seem to have worked and the map Coverage updates all installed without issue. Only the TopoActive Europe 2019.10 won't install always giving error installing update. I have tried Garmin Express on Mac (main computer) and Windows even reinstalled Garmin express and reset fenix 6 to factory defaults. Nothing seem to work to install the updated map. See picture

Mine kept saying that it had map updates just like yours but kept failing as well. I went to garmin connect (web version) and noticed the little watch icon in the top right corner (labeled Device and Sync Status when you mouse over) had golf clubs on the list of things to sync. I deleted those. Then I went to gear, deleted all the clubs (I never created them), and then was able to sync through Garmin Express.

This is old, but here is a video on how to do exactly this. Pretty easy. Just export rout from garmin connect as a fit file and drop it into the "new files" folder while garmin is plugged in. Doing this will only show edited waypoints as "next waypoint" on watch.

The developer website lists the Fenix 7 as being a 256 color MIPS screen now.

Nice review! I am pondering a purchase of either the epix or the fenix. Leaning towards Epix because main use will be back country navigation. In the areas I often move, there are no trails or marked paths. Previously (on garmin handheld) I have found Birdseye satellite images to be sometimes useful. Have you tried using those on either watch? As I gather they are not officially supported for some reason, even though earlier Fenix models were. Seems to me like it would be a perfect match with the Epix display.

FYI, I can only access first page of comment section. Maybe a problem on my end, but have tried both phone and mac.

For example despite needing a very high prescription in my glasses I have no problem reading my fenix6s with the brightness on the lowest setting of 5% and I have friends with good eyesight and do t wear glasses who need the fenix6 with 70% backlight to read the screen clearly.

There was a hardware fault with the buttons, so reverted back to my fenix6s pro. By time it was back in stock and the button issue lots of us were reporting stopped being reported I figured I might as well wait for a few more months and get it for a discount in the Black Friday slightly discounted sales.

If I was more price sensitive, I would probably be on the Coros Vertix or Vertix 2. There is no question Garmin is maximizing their ARPU by manipulating the fenix SKUs to bundle desirable feature in the more expensive models.

i would realy like to see a impoved customer xp. mainly the charging is a painfull process for me. cable contacts are getting bad and you notice on the next morning, that you did not charge your watch overnight. a reason to buy a version of my fenix watch, would be a wireless charging option.
