What is Mandrel Wrapping?

Unlike the common, low-cost Pultrusion method (where fibers are simply pulled through a die), Mandrel Wrapping is a sophisticated multi-stage process. We precisely roll multiple layers of high-modulus carbon fiber prepreg around a precision-ground solid steel mandrel (the core). This core acts as a perfect template for the arrow’s internal diameter.

Superior Hoop Strength: By wrapping fibers at alternating angles (cross-weave), we create a "composite cage." This provides incredible lateral reinforcement, preventing the shaft from "mushrooming" or splitting upon high-velocity impact—a common failure in cheap extruded arrows.
