The School Violence Committee Report - Cropped
Allegation: Garam bullied a disabled student and received a restraining order.
Truth: Garam had a school violence committee called against her and received disciplinary action for cursing at the "victim" in the process of demanding an apology on behalf of her friend. Garam's "victim" took a picture of one of Garam's friends undressing and hacked another's Facebook account to upload the underwear photo and frame her.
"Confidential" Report from a HYBE employee
Allegation: HYBE had documents containing testimonies against Garam
Truth: Literally just a paper with the text "testimonies against Garam" from someone who didn't know how highlighting works. Nothing indicated the papers are even from a Hybe office.
A Chalkboard with "Le Sserafim Up, IVE Down!" Written on it
Allegation: Garam's friends bashed IVE because Garam was cut from IVE
Truth: Garam only trained under Source Music.
Unless there was a sample of handwriting from the alleged "friends" who wrote this and a comparison, anyone could have written this message. Even so, how is this proof of Garam's bullying? This sort of declaration is common among petty fan rivalries.
UPDATE 2022.11.05: Korean daily newspaper Chosun broke a story that Kakao Entertainment, which owns 59.73% of Starship Entertainment's shares, allegedly ran an Idol Facebook page that fabricated negative stories targeting groups seen as IVE's competition—as IVE is a Starship Entertainment group. Le Sserafim was name checked as one of the groups subjected to Kakao's smear campaign. It is speculated that there is a high probability the rumors premising Garam being a resentful former Starship trainee was forged by the entertainment company. Idol Lab, the Facebook page, boasted 1.32 million followers.
Chat Log of Garam being intimidating - Cropped
Allegation: Garam scoffed and was rude to someone for wanting to meet people in another social circle.
Truth: Garam sharing an inside joke with a friend, to whom she lent her phone out often.
Selcas with ableist pejoratives written on them
Allegation: Garam made fun of disabled people by writing ableist pejoratives on her own selcas (the logic?)
Truth: People bullied Garam by writing ableist pejoratives on her selcas to make fun of her brachydactyly, a genetic condition that causes shorter-than-average digits. Original pictures found on her Facebook do not contain the insults.
A handwriting comparison also demonstrates the inconsistency between Garam's penmanship and the penmanship on the selcas.
Text from Garam saying, "Pick up the phone or I'll kill you!"
Allegation: Garam threatened someone's life
Truth: Ignoring that there are two Garam's in this chat, it's true that Garam got in trouble for texting threatening messages. However, the full context is Garam was demanding an apology, on behalf of a friend, from someone who committed sexual harassment against said friend and then tried to frame it another friend. Garam resorted to crude language and threats after being ignored. The receiver of these texts must've not felt her life was in danger because she agreed to meet up with Garam by herself and apologized for her wrongful act right after, according to the report.
Closeups of Garam's selcas and photos.
Allegation: Proof that Garam is a sexual deviant and sexual deviants are bullies.
Truth: Sexual harassment. Against a minor.
Unless Garam is captured on film committing acts of violence, her personal pictures are not proof of anything and micro-analyzing her body speaks more about your character than hers.
Comparing the outcomes of Autonomous School Violence Committee cases
Allegation: Kim Garam must have committed severe physical violence to be subjected to a no.5 disposition because previous perpetrators who received a no. 4 or no. 5 had put their victims in hospitals.
Truth: The committees are autonomous, as the name suggests. The panel of people who decide the disciplinary actions for the "perpetrator student" vary from school-to-school. They come from different backgrounds, and have different values, biases and prejudices. (Not to mention, the system is broken.) In Garam's case, a no.5 was the most common disciplinary action implemented at her school.
Furthermore, the criteria sheet , used in a school violence committee, states no. 2 and no. 5 dispositions are exempt from the scoring of severity.
Garam bullying Sakura
Allegation: 1) Garam was laughing at Sakura's alleged nose job and 2) called her a plastic surgery monster.
Truth: 1) They were playing a game where they had to compliment each other without laughing and most failed. It was a playful atmosphere. 2) Source?
