Ganesha is the God of New Beginnings, a God of Success, and a God of Wisdom. He is very popular in India today. Ganesha, also known as Ganapati, is easily to be remembered and easily to be identified due to having a figure of an elephant's head! Ganesha is one of the most worshiped deities all year, plus on special occasions like Ganesha Chaturthi.
Ganesha had a wonderful family. He has a mother named Parvati, a father named Shiva, and a brother named Kartikeya! They lived in a wonderful home on Mount Kailasa in the Himalayas. Ganesha is admirable and a sweet, young, courageous boy. Most importantly, Ganesha is known for his tastes in foods!
Ganesha loves to eat delicious and sweet foods. One of his favorite sweet dishes is modak! Modak is a dumpling that is stuffed with sweet coconut and jaggery. Jaggery is a dark brown sugar that was made from the evaporation of the sap of palm trees in India! Not only does Ganesha love his sweets, he just loves to eat because his big, pot belly shows it all! He is a heavy fella, a heavyweight amongst all gods. Overall, he is a special god, not a warrior. He reminds the people across India to lighten up and take things as they come.
Since Ganesha is known for his sweets, there are many stories that can relate to him and his foods. For this story, Ganesha has a life filled with food adventures! In the beginning of his early life, Ganesha and his brother competes for a mango that was held by his parents. Whoever wins the competition gets to eat the mango! In the middle of his early life, Ganesha realizes what true friends he has! Lastly, Ganesha and his family were invited to a friend's dinner! Overall, Ganesha is grateful for his life and loves his family very much.
