The Gamma Psi Chapter of Eta State Delta Kappa Gamma Society International with the help of Mary's late husband established a trust fund as a memorial to Mary Speer Martin. Mrs. Martin was a charter member of Alpha Theta. She served as parliamentarian, corresponding secretary, first vice-president, and president. From 1971-1973 she served as second vice-president of Eta State. She was a charter member of Gamma Psi and remained a member until her death in April 1985. Donations to the fund may be added at any time.
The interest from the fund is used annually for:
Undergraduate Grant-in-Aid Education
Graduate Grant in Education
Gamma Psi Members working on Advanced Degrees
Other Educational Projects
To encourage young people to enter the teaching profession and to help them achieve this goal, the Alpha Theta Chapter established the Eva Hine Grant-in-Aid named for Alpha Theta's first president, Eva Hine. Gamma Psi continued the grant when the chapter was formed as an expansion of Alpha Theta.
