The 11th Annual tournament of the American Roque League took place in Washinton, Lincoln, and Garfield Parks in Chicago (July 18-23, 1921. Herbert L Sime of Chicago won the Gates Underhill prize, the diamond medal, and the National Championship. The second division medal was won by G. Swanson of Chicago who won thirteen games and lost only one in the week's play. (Source: Chicago Daily News Almanac 1921)
In 2004, the American Roque and Croquet Association suspended tournaments because the number of participants at the Nationals had shrunk to single figures.[3]
Roque is still played by a small number of people in the United States. An historic roque court in Clinton, Illinois was restored to playing condition in 2013.[4][5] A roque tournament is held annually in Angelica, New York.[6]
