Privacy Policy – Smart Home System

Smart Home System (“SHS”) is a smart-home, monitoring, security, and communication application designed to allow users to control compatible home devices, monitor sensors, receive alerts, communicate with other users, and access configured security camera systems.
Information and permissions used
Depending on the features used, Smart Home System may access device and network information necessary to communicate with smart-home devices over local networks and remote services.
The application may request location permission where required by Android for network, Wi-Fi, device discovery, or related functionality. Location permission is used only for application features that require it and is not used by SHS for advertising.
Microphone access is used for features such as voice communication, intercom, and related audio functions. SHS does not activate the microphone for advertising purposes.
The application may use notification permissions to provide smart-home status information, security notifications, sensor alarms, communication alerts, and other application notifications.
Smart-home and sensor information
SHS may process information received from devices configured by the user, including switch states and sensor information such as temperature, motion, gas, and water-leak status. This information is used to provide smart-home control, monitoring, notifications, and security functions.
Camera systems
SHS allows users to connect compatible security camera and recorder systems that they configure themselves. Camera connection information is used to establish the requested connection and provide features such as live viewing and access to historical recordings.
Camera video and recordings are accessed as requested by the user. SHS does not use camera footage for advertising.
Communication features
SHS includes communication functions such as chat, voice communication, intercom, and doorbell-related features. Information necessary to provide these functions may be transmitted between participating devices or through the services required to provide the selected feature.
Remote services
Some SHS functions use internet-based services, including Firebase services, to provide features such as remote communication, synchronization, notifications, or smart-home control when the user is outside the local network.
These third-party services may process technical information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Data security
Reasonable measures are used to protect information handled by the application. However, no electronic communication or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for protecting credentials and access information for smart-home equipment, security cameras, recorders, and other devices they configure in SHS.
Data sharing and advertising
SHS does not sell users' personal information.
SHS does not use personal information, microphone recordings, security-camera footage, or smart-home sensor information for targeted advertising.
Information may be processed by third-party services where necessary to provide application functionality, subject to the privacy practices of those services.
Children
Smart Home System is intended as a smart-home and security utility and is not specifically designed for children.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when application functionality, legal requirements, or services used by SHS change. The updated policy will be made available through the published privacy-policy page.
