Extra Credit

Abandon hope all ye who enter here...

There is no Extra Credit in this class. Period. . . . So why do students always ask for extra credit??

I've had students ask me at the end of the term to write 10 page research papers on any topic of my choosing, which might be something like:

"Distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination polyhedra of oxygen as elucidated using Fourier-transformed magnetic resonance spectroscopy"

The same student probably blew off an easy lab worth 20 points to finish a psychology 101 term paper on "why students procrastinate", or didn't study for an exam because they were too busy shopping, or skipped three lectures to go surfing because the tide was really up that week. . . you get the picture.

** INVEST your time in what is required NOW and you will not come crawling to your teacher for extra credit at the end of the term like Snoopy.

** PLAN your weekly homework schedule and WRITE DOWN all assignments and due dates so you don't fall behind. Party after all the weekly assignments are done.

This is college not high-school. There are no make-up or extra credit assignments in this class.

Study hard for the final and get your credit learning what you are supposed to learn from this course.

It only gets harder in the real world: Do you really think your boss will accept your quarterly fiscal report to the shareholders a week late??
