Rev (Dr) Simon Nagarajan
Pastor's Foreword
Brethren, greetings in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
Our last Church Camp was in 2019 – the theme was “Heart of Worship”, the speaker was from Hong Kong, Dr David Pardini, and the venue was at Hotel Tenera, Kuala Lumpur. At the dawn of the following year, the pandemic racked havoc globally, but we as a church survived by God’s mercy and grace. Last year, we held our Church Camp in-house to mitigate health risks. Praise and thank God, this year, like the good old days, we are departing from our regular daily routies and activities to experience spiritual refreshment and fellowship with one another.
The Church Committee has put in many hours of diligent hard work to make this a blessed camp in negotiating the best price with facilities suitable for all campers, carefully selecting menu to treat the pallets of the young and seniors, sourcing and organising afternoon outdoor activities and ensuring meeting rooms which are well equipped. A few committee members also travelled a few times to Sheraton Desaru to ensure that all prearrangements were in place. We thank the Camp Master Bro Albert Ng and his committee, for a job well done! Next year, God willing, Dn Joseph Tai will spearhead the Camp.
All praise to God! Slightly over 100 Galileans have signed up for the camp. Programmes for English/Mandarin campers, as well as the children will run concurrently. May our Lord bless our various Camp Speakers: Rev Lee Fatt Ping (Grace BPC), Rev David Tan (Chen Li Presbyterian Church) and Sister Hannah Yeo (Grace BPC, Children Speaker). We also warmly welcome Rev Richard Musyoki who travelled from Kenya, Africa, to join us and his family for this camp.
During this camp, we will study the Eight Beatitudes from the Gospel of Matthew 5:1-12 as a church. In June 2009, Professor William Harding delivered several messages on this very same topic. Someone remarked that the Beatitudes serve as the doctrine of the Disciples. May the Lord enrich us through His Word, strengthen our bonds with one another, and revive our spiritual life.

Camp Master's Foreword
I was not expecting to return as a Church Camp Master after passing the baton to Dn Kenneth Wong sometime years ago. Rev Simon approached me mid last year asking me to help revive the Church Camp for 2023 after more then 2 years of Covid restriction to travel.
Hesitantly, I accepted the role not knowing if I could still manage it, because over the past years my health has not been normal. I have a heart attack during the Covid period which almost kill me and contracted very serious Covid infection. I have almost all the symptoms you can expect from Covid infection despite 4 Covid injections. All these situations which the Lord Jesus have graciously spare my life (Not that I was afraid to die, but more then I would like to be call home to be with the Lord Jesus- 2 Corinthians 5:8. However, the Lord said my time is not up yet!
When Rev. Simon told me the Church Camp Message will be: The 8 Blessings of The Beatitudes- Matthew 5:1-12. I realized after going into the verses and some commentary. It was more than appropriate especially with this current conditions and world situations that is ongoing. We have experience though World Pandemic, Weather Changes, Wars, Disaster, Economic Crisis, False prophets even people are predicting end time is coming, but above all these which the Holy Bible has already proclaim in Matthew 24:6-34.
How then as a Christian we can still live a life that is under the shepherd of our Lord Jesus and not worry about what is happening in this fallen world.
The Beatitudes are a teaching about how to be “Full of Blessing” or “Full of God, fully and wholly satisfied in God, connected to God and having God live in you.” Simply put, Jesus is saying this is how to have the good life, the best life, the life intended for you to live.
We thank God and are bless to be able to come to this year Church Camp despite every circumstance facing us. The Message which from the Word of God will surely bring us to a better understanding during the Camp.
I thank my Almighty God to be able to serve you with the dedicated committees to supported me to make this a wonderful and God blessing Church Camp for all of us.
In Christ Service
Albert Ng
