The S Pen is the biggest differentiating factor between the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S series these days. But if you're not an artist, you might not see much use in a stylus at first. But with the help of a few apps, you can find usage beyond just creating. And that's not all. With all that power contained in the Galaxy Note 20, the preinstalled apps aren't enough to get the most of your investment.

Good Lock is a first-party Samsung app that lets you make major changes to parts of your phone's operating system. It's actually more like a suite, containing different apps that customize various features on your Note 20.

When taking notes, for most people, using your voice is faster. The Samsung Voice Recorder app can transcribe in real-time a memo up to ten minutes. It also has tons of features from configuring the audio quality to how the microphone records sound.

Adobe is one of the leaders in content creation thanks to some of the best photo and video editors on the market. Their apps help fill the gap found on many phones, which have fantastic cameras but mediocre or limited built-in editing software.

Both Lightroom and Photoshop have mobile apps that are optimized for Samsung Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy Note 20. Depending on your skill and needs, download either or both to take your photos from average to extraordinary.

Squid is a great third-party alternative to the stock Samsung Notes app. It supports different pressures, making lines larger the harder you press. It supports PDFs, lets you add handwritten notes and even signed documents, supports various paper types and sizes, and much more. Some features do require premium service, which is currently $10 a year.

so had the same issue and found a solution that works for me on another site. Its acutally cause of my galaxy watch, anytime a notification comes through and Im on my phone and i flip my wrist the notification on my watch automatically opens the app on the phone. Its a setting called smart relay in the galaxy wearables app. In app go to settings/notifications//smart relay

My note 9 is opening all different apps, just popping up, without a notification.. I'm just on my phone and within the last 10 minutes, 7 different apps popped up/opened up by itself. How do I test it in safe mode? Meaning what am I looking for once I turn safe mode on? Thanks

I was able to turn my phone on safemode and all the other apps that open automatically are not options to choose so of course I am not going to get notifications from them, however it would happen to my text messages as well but in Safemode it doesnt happen. How would I know what application is causing this issue? Because NOT in safemode, it continues to happen even after dismissing a notification.

If the problem doesn't occur when the device is in safe mode then a third party app is causing this. You may have to delete your apps one by one starting with the most recent until you find the one causing this.

How would I know which one it is? I had many of my apps downloaded at the same time. Are you saying that the Apps are causing this? How would a phone get realeased that cant handle my basic apps from the Playstore? Asking me to sit here and delete my apps that I downloaded to specifically use on my phone is not realistic. Is this really the only solution you guys have come up with? I know I am not the only one having this issue.

Same issue. I turn on my phone to find apps open, with data randomly input. Sometimes paragraphs of gibberish, which I have to manually delete. The apps that are opening vary wildly, from Rick Steves travel site to Chomp text app, to apps I haven't used in months or longer. Edits are made to calendar entries. Etc Etc. These are all apps I have haad for months and years, all previously installed on my LG V20, none of which have exhibited this issue prior to buying this phone . Would appreciate some guidance, short of going through apps one at a time.

Designed to feel like a real pen (complete with a subtle pencil-on-paper sound as you write), the S Pen is fantastic for note-taking, drawing and navigating your phone. You can even use the S Pen as a remote for controlling your camera, playing music and media, and flipping through presentation slides.

Take out the S Pen or tap the floating pen icon on the right side of the screen to open the Air Command menu. From the menu, tap Screen Write. This will immediately take a screen capture of the content you were reviewing and open the S Pen annotation tools. You can now add notes with the S Pen, crop the image, and share your illustrated thoughts via email or your preferred messaging app.

Need to share your upcoming availability for a meeting? Take out your S Pen, tap the pen icon to open the Air Command menu, and select Write on Calendar. Your calendar will open instantly, with a handy set of annotation tools. Circle or block out dates, add your notes, and hit Save.

Separately, you can use handwriting to text within your email or messaging app by using the Samsung keyboard. Within the keyboard, tap the three dots and select handwriting mode. You can then take notes within the notepad area and have them converted immediately.

In addition to these powerful Air Actions, you can add custom gestures to your device. When you customize your Anywhere Actions, you can use one of these gestures to navigate your phone or tablet, or even access specific apps and features. Just go to S Pen settings > Air Actions, and configure them to your preferences.

Samsung first introduced the S Pen with its popular Note series of phones and now has extended it to its flagship Galaxy S21, S22, and S23 Ultra line-up. While a handy tool to take notes on the go, the S Pen can do more than just scribble. You can use it to write, sketch, annotate documents, and even play games.

Before we head to the third-party apps list, let's discover the best built-in S Pen apps. Samsung bundles a bunch of creative, fun, and productive S Pen apps with compatible devices, known as S Pen Features. If you haven't paid attention, these S Pen Features comprise a coloring app, live messages, multitasking with Glance, and more.

While there are many great note-taking apps for Android, Squid excels when it comes to taking handwritten notes using a stylus or S Pen. It offers a smooth writing experience and allows you to choose from a collection of backgrounds to write music, journal, or plot graphs.

You can import specific pages or all notes in the PDF, PNG, JPEG, and Squid Note formats. Other useful features include customizable pen pressure, support for changing ink color, and the ability to undo and redo changes and erase.

Samsung Notes replaces the S Note app pre-installed on older Note devices. While there is no dearth of note-taking apps on Android, Samsung Notes is built-in and free to use. You can create handwritten notes, add text, or even dictate to convert your voice to text.

For handwritten notes, you can choose different pen modes, including a pen, pencil, calligraphy brush, and fountain pen. In addition, you can choose from different colors and increase and decrease pen depth.

You can save specific notes to different folders and protect them with a password. The app also lets you choose from different page templates, including a bullet journal. Once done, you can export your notes in multiple formats, including PDF, MS Word and PowerPoint, image, and text.

Even without third-party apps, the S Pen is a handy tool. You can use it to write on your screen, open Air Command, capture the screen, and use it as a touch-input device. However, third-party apps can extend its use beyond the few party tricks that the Galaxy phone comes with.

You can make quick calculations with MyScript Calculator 2, take handwritten notes with Squid, bring your ideas to life with Sketchbook, or spend your free time-solving World of Goo puzzles. The S Pen has a world of its own; all you need to do is explore the Google Play Store and Samsung Store to find the right apps.

When deciding which Android notetaking apps to download and use, first consider what your actual needs are. For example, are you planning to keep your notes mostly as plain text notes, or do you need to add media to them? Additionally, do you need to use your notes in other software such as Microsoft Word? Are you happy to just save locally or in the cloud? In such instances, you will need to look at the features to see whether the app satisfactorily answers such questions or not.

This has become a lot more simple as smartphones have become a common device for use by business as well as general consumers. While note-taking apps are one of the simplest of the best business apps available it is often one of the most essential, especially when it comes to quickly putting down new ideas, inspirations, or general reminders before you forget.

Whether you're just typing text, writing with a stylus, or scribbling with your finger, there are a lot of different note-taking apps for Android out there. Some are focused on just taking notes, while others come with more features and functionality, such as adding multimedia, which can turn your smartphone into a digital notebook, or workbook.

Additionally, while note-taking apps were originally focused on a sole user, these days many now also come with options for collaboration, such as sharing files and folders with colleagues from the notes you make.

With Evernote, you can create, share and discuss content with your colleagues as well. The app is currently free to download, but the premium plan which offers a wider range of features is available for a monthly or yearly subscription.

Google Keep is a pretty decent productivity app for teams, too. You can easily share notes and collaborate with others. Other features include color-coded labels, reminders and the benefit of multi-platform support. The app is free to download from the Play Store.

Material Notes is a streamlined app that allows you to create notes, to-do lists and reminders. These are all color-coded and stored within a card-style interface to keep things better organized, and to make it easy to find relevant information. You also get the ability to mark important notes with stars, and these are saved within a category based on the urgency of projects. 006ab0faaa
