A passport is obligatory for international travel! Plan ahead to avoid a rush fee. A visa is not required for US Citizens to travel to Ecuador. More information can be found on the US Department of State website here.
Parents are welcome to travel with us. Flexibility and recognizing that its a fast-paced, student-focused trip is essential. Chaperoning duties are not expected. Interpersonal parent/child conflicts, are not the responsibilities of the chaperones.
Students who do not adhere to our behavior expectations will be sent home at the parent's expense, no refunds. We have a strict "no exceptions" rule regarding illicit behavior. Luckily this hasn't been an issue on any of our trips!

Please note, the Lake Washington School District doesn't arrange, offer, or support these types of educational trips. Mr. Palmer has previously led 4 overseas trips with students (and believes they are not only educational but quite fun). Expectations of students is the same on the trip as at school regarding behavior and dress.
Please check with your cell phone carrier about international rates. Be aware that coverage on the cruise ship will likely be harder to find and therefore more expensive. The ship might have WiFi available, but it will likely be expensive. You may also consider renting or purchasing a mobile Hotspot to bring with you on the trip.
