I am a graduate mentor with the UC Davis chapter of EnvironMentors, in which I mentor local high school students from historically excluded minorities in conducting their own research projects. I am also a facilitator for the Asking Different Questions in Climate Science curriculum at the UC Davis Feminist Research Institute.
I have been a TA for undergraduate courses: Intermediate Microeconomics (2022), Economics of Outdoor Recreation (2019), and Introduction to Natural Resource Economics (2019).
"Gal is the most amazing TA I have ever had in my entire time at UC Davis. I have nothing bad to say about her. I found this class incredibly hard to understand but her explanations made it much easier for me to grasp concepts and is the reason I was able to do most of what I could do. She taught us in a way that kept my attention and made me actually want to attend discussion, all while making use of the short time we had each week. She talked to us like equals which made her very approachable and I think that was reflected in the way students felt comfortable enough to ask questions during discussion and she was able to answer them and clear up any confusion."
"Gal was one of the best TAs I have had. The material in this class was challenging and I often came to discussion feeling discouraged. Gal was very good at making students feel like they can learn this material. Gal was excellent at explaining concepts in an easy to understand way and wouldn't hesitate to repeat information. Overall, Gal was approachable and had an engaging teaching style. Gal definitely helped me pass this class."
"how real gal was :)"
