Side Events
During the summer school, several festivals and events will occur in Metz:
Constellations : Contemporary art and city lighting, night tours from 10PM on Thursdays and Fridays.
Olympic parade : On June 27th, the Olympic flame will be brought to Metz with a variety of events through the city.
Metz Plage : Close to the campus is a swimmable lake with temporary bars and animations.
The city has several museums, notably the Centre Pompidou for contemporary art and Musée de la Cour d’Or which is a free museum of local archaeology.

Metz offers numerous spots to enjoy summer events, including EuroCup game broadcasts. Here are some recommended locations:
Le Brooklyn Café, 27 rue des Roches: Beautiful terrace by the river.
Aux Paraiges, 27 rue du Change: Large terrace on Place Saint Louis, showcasing medieval architecture.
Vivian’s Pub, 15 Place Saint Louis: Beer pub on the same square.
3.96 Kaffe: Also on Place Saint Louis.
L’Effet Mer: A guinguette on campus with a variety of drinks and Italian food.
Theatris Bar : A nice terrasse with view on the cathedral, next to the opéra.
The Mermaid’s Tavern : A sports pub on a medieval square with plenty of outside space.
La Jehanne : Yet another beer bar on yet another medieval square ! Nice room inside.
Les Frigos : A vast guinguette set in the old military cold rooms with regular events and a variety of food trucks.
The city has a variety of restaurants to suit all preferences. Note that restaurants generally close their kitchens by 10pm.
