This site is a resource for "SCAMPER and MIRO for Ideation, Collaboration, and Authentic Assessments" Seneca's TLD Day Workshop - April 30, 2024
In the workshop session, we talked about the benefits and challenges. Observations and comments by workshop participants about the project's benefits and challenges are reflected here.
The project adopts a systems approach with scaffolded assessments to encourage reporting on a process, rather than producing the best innovation. This approach removes some stress on students while focussing on learning objectives.
Student groups:
meet learning objectives
practise collaboration
experience authentic assessment
explore meaningful topics for sustainability and the potential for EDI
apply real-world tools and concepts
engage and create interest with student-selected topics
Some concerns:
Some students like to solve the defined problem before they complete SCAMPER brainstorming and reverse engineer the report or omit the SCAMPER section.
