Logistics
Supported participants will be staying in Ibis hotel Strasbourg Centre Petite France located in the Strasbourg city center, next to the train station.
All rooms are double, with breakfast included. If you have any preference about the person to share the room with, please let us know and we will try to accommodate your request.
The conference lecture room is located inside the math department of the Strasbourg University, ca. 25 minutes walk from the Ibis hotel. There is also a direct tram from the hotel to the University campus (line F); tickets can be bought directly at the tram stop.
If you are not supported, we suggest you to check the availability at the Ibis hotel Strasbourg Centre Petite France, that is quite big; here you can find a complete list of the Ibis hotels of Strasbourg. Otherwise, the city center of Strasbourg is very turistic and full of hotels.
Lunches
Lunches will be at the university canteen Crous Paul Appell, in 8 Rue de Palerme, few minutes by walk from the math department.
Supported participants will have 5 small colored tickets to use to pay at the canteen.
Conference dinner
The conference dinner will take place on Wednesday evening at 19.30.
The restaurant is called Gurtlerhoft and it's located just in front of the cathedral.
Free afternoon and activities
What we suggest the most is to go to the Festival of Music, that will start around 18.00 and will take place all around the Strasbourg city center.

How to get there:
By plane:
The Strasbourg-Entzheim airport is connected to the central train station of Strasbourg by a 7 minutes shuttle train, usually departing every 15 minutes. You can find a timetable and more information here. For information about how to reach the hotel from the train station, please check the section "by train" below. The Strasbourg-Entzheim airport is normally quite expensive, and it does not have many direct flights. We list here some other airport in near Strasbourg, well connected to Strasbourg by bus or train. For more information about bus and train tickets and about how to reach the hotel from the stations, please check the sections "by bus" and "by train" below.

Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg EuroAirport. There are two main options to reach Strasbourg: you can take a Flixbus bus directly from the EuroAirport; the journey takes about 2 hours, and there are ca. 5 buses per day. Alternatively, every 30 minutes there is a municipal bus going to Saint-Louis train station, from which you can take a 1 hour train to the central train station of Strasbourg; before choosing the latter option, please consider the SNCF strike, see section "by train" below.
Baden-Baden/Karlsruhe Airpark. From here you need to take a 20 minutes bus to the Baden-Baden train station (timetable here) from which you can take a 1 hour train to Strasbourg, with a change in Offenburg. Train tickets can be bought directly at the Baden-Baden train station or on the Deutsche Bahn website. It may be convenient to stop in Kehl, instead of Strasbourg; please check the section "by train" below.
Frankfurt am Main airport. Frankfurt airport is one of the largest in Europe and is rather close to Strasbourg, making it a convenient choice for the participants travelling from further away (e.g., the USA). To get to Strasbourg, you can take an ICE train to Karlsruhe train station, and from there a TGV train to Strasbourg. In total the journey will last a bit more than 2 hours. It may be convenient to stop in Kehl, instead of Strasbourg; please check the section "by train" below. <br> <br> If you are travelling with Lufthansa, you may try booking your ticket directly to/from Strasbourg (destinantion code XER) as they have their own bus shuttle between Strasbourg train station and the airport. The bus is free of charge for Lufthansa clients, others will be subject to a fare; you can find more information on the Lufthansa webpage.
Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. It is the main airport of France, well connected to a vast number of airports worldwide. It has it's own TGV station with a fast connection (1h43min) to Strasbourg. Also, here you can find directions to Gare de l'Est station in Paris, where you can catch a TGV train to Strasbourg. <br> <br> However, because of a nationwide trade union strike (see the section "by train" below), many of these train connections might be cancelled, so we would strongly suggest choosing Frankfurt airport instead.
Stuttgart airport. This airport is a bit further away from Strasbourg but still might be an interesting option for some. You may take the S-bahn train to get to the Stuttgart main train station and then a train of the Deutche Bahn network to get to Strasbourg. Also, you may look for a direct Flixbus connecting the airport with Strasbourg (2h20min). More info here.
By train:
The Ibis hotel Strasbourg Centre Petite France is just 5 minutes walk from the central train station of Strasbourg. The Strasbourg train station is connected to many European train stations; you can check the timetable and book your tickets at SNFC website.
CAUTION!
Due to a nationwide railway trade union strike in France, which will be in full swing during the conference period, we strongly advice our participants AGAINST taking any trains operated by French companies (TGV, TER, Intercités, RER, Transilien, Eurostar, and some others).
You may find information about the particular train you are planning to take on the SNCF webpage linked above. If you still decide to travel with SNCF, here is what you need to know: If you book a ticket for a train on a strike day (calendar here SNCF will inform you the day before (after 5 p.m.) whether your train will leave or not; if not, you may change your ticket with any ticket for the same destination on the same day free of charge, subject to availability.
Please note that up to 90% of the trains might be cancelled on a strike day. Because of the strike, if you are planing to arrive with a train from/through Germany (e.g. if you are coming from Baden-Airpark or Frankfurt airport), we would encourage you to consider booking your train to Kehl (on the French-German border). The station of Kehl is served by Strasbourg city tram line D, which leaves every 15 minutes and gets you to Strasbourg city center in 25 minutes.
By bus:
Strasbourg is connected to many European cities and airports by buses, usually much cheaper than trains. The operating companies include Flixbus, Isilines, Ouibus
(not on strike, although a part of SNCF).
The main bus stationis in Parc de l'Étoile, which is connected to the central train station area (where the Ibis hotel is located) by the trams A and D.
However, please note that the Lufthansa Express bus mentioned before stops at the main train station, and not at Parc de l'Étoile.
Because of the SNCF strike mentioned before, we would strongly recommend you taking a bus instead of a train.
