GAeL XXVI

Strasbourg

Géométrie Algébrique en Liberté, also known as GAeL, is an annual workshop organized by and for young algebraic geometers. The aim of this workshop is to gather young mathematicians in this field of research and give them an opportunity to discuss freely without having to fear that their questions or viewpoints might be silly: hence the name of the workshop.

This year GAeL will take place in Strasbourg, France from June 18-22. We used to have a slightly shinier website the this one. Unfortunately we were attacked by hackers. The upside to this is that if you ever get asked what the use of algebraic geometry is you can go all conspiracy theorist and say that there are people in the world who will do everything in their power to stop you from spreading the truth of algebraic geometry.

The downside of course is that we've confused you all mightily by disappearing into nowhere at a time that the world is already difficult enough as it is because the French railways decided to do what they do best and strike. Specifically on the day that most people will be arriving and the day most people will be leaving. (Mere coincidence you say?)

Nevertheless GAeL XXVI will be amazing and we're very much looking forward to meeting you all in Strasbourg!

See you next year in Bucharest!
