Welcome to the Stevanato Lab !
• Department of Chemical Sciences • University of Padova •
We are a young and energetic research team exploring the frontiers of hyperpolarization and magnetic resonance. Our work focuses on pushing the sensitivity limits of NMR — developing new catalysts, experimental setups, and concepts that turn weak signals into powerful insights.
From Signal Amplification by Reversible Exchange (SABRE) and ParaHydrogen Induced Polarization (PHIP) to Light-induced hyperpolarization, we design and test innovative ways to unlock molecular information across chemistry, biology, and materials science.

03/11/2025 Congratulations to Federico Floreani who brilliantly presented our recent work at the PERM CONFERENCE 2025 with a 1 minute flash talk
PERM PRESENTATION, 2025
10/10/2025 A Controlled System for Parahydrogen Hyperpolarization Experiments L. Franco, F. Floreani, S. Mamone, A. M. Faramawy, M. Ruzzi, C. Tubaro and G. Stevanato *
We present a portable, compact and cost-effective setup that brings PHIP and Signal Amplification By Reversible Exchange (SABRE) experiments within easy reach, operating seamlessly across ultra-low-field (0–10 μT) and high-field (>1 T) conditions at 50% parahydrogen enrichment.
22/09/2025 Welcome: Federico De Biasi has joined our time as RTDa !! Congratulations to Federico — wishing you a bright and successful future ahead!
19/09/2025 (De)coding SABRE of [1-13C]pyruvate S. Mamone, F. Floreani, A. M. Faramawy, C. Graiff, L. Franco, M. Ruzzi, C. Tubaro and G. Stevanato*
We report a comprehensive study integrating catalyst design, systematic experimentation, and advanced theoretical modelling for SABRE of [1-13C]pyruvate.
21/12/2024 Welcome: Ahmed Mohammed Faramawy begins today to work with us! From the warm Egypt to the coldish winter in Padua jumping from material science to NMR hyperpolarization. Best wishes from all of us!
01/11/2024 Welcome: Federico Floreani has officially begun his PhD journey!! Congratulations to Federico — full of energy and brilliant ideas for the future!
