GAA Player Resources for Minor and Adult, Camogie, Hurling, Ladies and Men's Football Players
The Gaelic Games Player Pathway provides a comprehensive framework for club players at every stage of their GAA career. Starting with Foundation 1 for ages 4-6, the pathway emphasises fundamental movement skills. It progresses to the Elite/High Performance stage for players aged 23 and older, tailored to intercounty adult players. Each stage specifies its objectives, its importance, and identifies key support providers.
This site aims to provide resources and guidance on how players can achieve the desired outcomes at each stage, focusing on the majority of the playing members at Foundation 3 (F3) Youth / Adult and proposing resource pack for the second year under 18 Minor GAA player, as the years between 16 and 21 present the most disruption on and off the pitch for these players.
Note, most players reside in the F3 phase at club level. However, they may fluctuate between this phase and Talent and/or Elite depending on development opportunities at inter-county level.
Current resources are focused on the Foundation 3 (F3) Youth / Adult stage, to support the player's commitment to Gaelic Games and active lifestyle, specifically the under 18 year old players when preparing move from Minor to Adult playing levels.
Phase Outcome: Retention and Lifelong Participation. Ages 12+ years.
Additional research is currently in progress for the Foundation 3 (F3) female GAA players, aged 16 to 21 on how playing capacity management can be self-regulated, to accommodate the multiple events and activities they navigate on a daily and weekly basis.
