When G1MRA was founded in 1947 most locomotives were scratch built and, despite the considerable increase in ready-to-run models, scratchbuilding in all its forms remains the mainstay of our publications. This is G1MRA's fourth locomotive-build book, but our first with electric traction and our first with Finescale wheels.
Tony White explains the way he translates extensive research on full size build variations into a finely detailed scratch built steam outline model. The boiler backhead in the cab has very realistic controls, and the fully functioning firebox door includes a flickering fire effect.
The book is spiral bound so will lie flat in your workshop. It contains 92 pages with many colour photographs.
