These posts are written to tell the story of G. Keith Pickard, (1924-2001) and his wife Jean (MacLean) Pickard (1924-2018). Throughout their lives, Keith and Jean focused on family, faith and community. They were involved in many organizations that supported and encouraged people to work together to make Prince Edward Island a great place to live, work and visit.
Keith’s vocation was architecture, and between 1953 and 1993, he designed churches, schools, public and private buildings in Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. This was only possible through the loyalty and dedication of his staff who are recognized for their talent, energy, loyalty and longstanding contribution.
Jean Pickard, Keith’s wife, trained as a secretary and worked in Charlottetown and Ottawa. She supported Keith in his career and dedicated her life to their four children, extended family, and outreach to others.
A wide variety of family records, books, newspaper articles, conversations and documents provided the information which attempts to share the story of their contribution. The posts are in progress and will be added as the writing is completed.
