Fort Wayne Pride Bands

Fort Wayne Pride Bands are Indiana's second LGBTQ+ instrumental ensembles, and a part of Fort Wayne Pride.  We are open to all instruments and all skill levels, with NO audition. 

The Fort Wayne Pride Bands are Ft Wayne, IN-based instrumental ensembles that will adapt to instrumentation. Street Band (rock band with horns) started rehearsing February 2024 and premiered at Fort Wayne Pride 2024. We rehearse at the Ft Wayne Pride Center (527 W Berry St, Ft Wayne). We will launch other bands (Concert Band, Jazz Band, etc) once we have member interest and resources. Our artistic directors have been associated with the Purdue University Fort Wayne School of Music and Pride of Indy Bands, Indiana’s first LGBTQ+ instrumental ensembles. 

Fort Wayne Pride Bands are open to all adult (18+) LGBTQ+ persons and allies. Our chief core value is inclusion, so we will do everything in our power to make band participation free for all members.

Fort Wayne Pride Bands is an unpaid group (members and staff). All proceeds go to support Fort Wayne Pride.

BIG NEWS is coming soon for the Ft Wayne Pride Concert Band. We're not ready to announce anything officially yet, but we are at a place where we need to gauge interest for Concert Band participation in Fall 2025!

How many of us played an instrument in high school, or college, or picked it up for a while then let it gather dust? We all know how intimidating it can be to pick it back up and play with a band again, right?

This is the whole point of Ft Wayne Pride Bands. Our chief core value is Inclusion. All are welcome in the band, regardless of race, gender, orientation or ability.

The Ft Wayne Pride Street Band kicks off our 2nd year on January 15, 7-830pm @ the Pride Center, and we want YOU to join us!! Have you been waiting for the right time to join? There's no time like the first rehearsal of the year!

Our Bands are 18+

While we believe strongly in making a safe place for all LBGTQ+ people and allies to express themselves through music, at this time we can only open our doors to people 18+. We have a vision and passion for an ensemble that will be able to accommodate teens. If you are under 18, you are welcome to stay on this mailing list and we will let you know when we can make that happen.
