FWGAD General Meeting

July 22, 2025

Oregon Golf Association

Quorum- per by bylaws, the quorum is met with satisfaction. 

President Darrell Hovinen called the meeting at 6:10 pm

1. Pledge to the Allegiance

2. Necrology: Larry Farovitch, David Maynard, Oscar Bibb, Richard Tennis, Herb Larson, Roger Taylor. Done: 35 names were not recorded, but will update the website

3. President’s Report 

   1. Down proposed a new prize distribution. COR didn’t endorse it. However, Doren will bring it up during New Business

   2. Will have an election for TD; the current secretary will step down if there is someone interested in serving as interim secretary until the next election.

4. Treasurer Ron Heinrich’s Report

   1. 88 players attended.  Financial statement from the tourney is attached. The financial report of FWGAD is attached

   2. Ron Heinrich updated the members regarding the situation with former President Toriano Watson. Dave Trimborn seconded the approval of two financial reports
      
      

New Business

1. David Ramirez proposed the pairings for the 2nd day of the tourney based on results from the 1st day of the tournament. David Smario seconded. Passed. Starts in 2026. 

2. Doren Granberry proposed that the $50 cash prize the players pay switch to the first two days, and on the last day, the prize will come from fundraising. David Ramirez seconded. Joey Baer motioned to refer to the board for further review until the next general meeting. Jeremy seconded. Passed. 

3. Ron Heinrich proposed that the pairings for the first day be changed to a new format. Phil Major

4. Doren Granberry proposed the tiebreaker system be modified to a 9-6-3-1 system. Seconded by David Ramirez. Failed. 

5. Jeremy Warshaw proposed that FWGAD suspend Toriano Watson from membership indefinitely. David Ramirez seconded. Passed

6. Jeremy Warshaw proposed FWGAD remove Toriano Watson’s points for Hall of Fame eligibility.  David Ramirez seconded. Passed.
   
   

Hall of Fame Chairperson Jeremy Warshaw announced Patty Lopez has been elected to the HOF. 

Announcement

2026 FWGAD tourney will be hosted by NCGD in Fairfield, CA. July 13-16, 2026. Paradise Valley and Rancho Solano golf courses. 

Election

TD - nominated Jose Sermeno. Accepted. Jeremy proposed ACL. The President cast a vote. 

Treasurer - President nominated Ron Heinrich. The President cast a vote by ACL. 

Farley Warshaw accepted the role of secretary for one year. 

Putting contest - prizes were announced. Joey Baer won. David Thompson came in second.
