I have been working at the Special Centre for Nanoscience, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, as a Professor since January 2014. Earlier (1994-1996), I joined Professor Dr. Günther Nimtz at the University of Köln, Germany, and worked in collaboration with Prof. Grünberg, the 2007 Physics Nobel Laureate. I again joined Research Center Jülich, Germany (1999-2001), with Prof. Grünberg as a Guest Scientist and worked on spintronics and Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) sensors and Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors. Thereafter, from 2002 to 2013, I worked at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, USA.
For the last 35 years, my research has involved nanoelectronics, Spintronics, Orbitronics, Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) sensors, Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors, a variety of planar microwave circuits (MMICs), ferromagnetic resonance, and Quantum Information Science using magnetic nanostructures. I have developed a variety of circuits related to quantum information transfer using MMICs. I have authored 157 technical papers.
My other field of research is on biosensors for early cancer detection and cancer therapy using the hyperthermia technique. I have developed nanocomposites for synergistic application in efficient cancer therapy and bioimaging at a clinical level. In addition, I have developed various microwave-absorbing materials in the form of thin layers for use in EM-shielding and stealth technology.
I served as an Editor for “IEEE Transactions in Magnetics” (2018-2022). Presently, I am an IEEE Magnetics Society’s technical committee Member.
