Magnetism Dynamics Group

A common feature of the development of future devices in spintronic applications is the drive towards smaller dimensions. There is a lot of information present in this Nano dimensions range. To elucidate the effect of electron spin and magnetic moment, there is a need for clear understanding of magnetization dynamics at the atomic scale. To probe the magnetization dynamics properties of magnetic nanostructures, we here in this lab device various techniques. Magnetic nanostructures in all the Nano dimensions (0-D, 1-D, 2-D) are being synthesized in our lab with better quality and purification. All the synthesized magnetic nanostructures can be easily put forward to be used in various microwave devices like a filter, phase shifter, isolator and band bass and notch filter. Along with this, various methods have been analyzed to probe the spin wave propagation in these magnetic nanostructures. This group is also working on the biological application of magnetic nanoparticles. Magnetic particles are used in MRI as a contrast agent. Recently, it has been demonstrated that smaller size particles are more effective for imaging purposes in MRI because their systemic half-life is two-three times greater than standard nanoparticles. For this reason, the image can be obtained by MRI for longer periods. Also, Magnetic nanoparticles are used in intracellular targeted hyperthermia therapy to cure cancer.
