Session 4: Immigration Policy in Past Administrations and Expectations for the Next

In this session, we talked briefly about the new elected President, Joe Biden and what the new administration might be looking towards doing when it is instated. We also discuss what the Obama administration looked like and observed immigration policies such the "Zero-tolerance Policy," and the "Central Americans Minors Program."

Undocumented individuals are subjected to various terms that are ascribed. What are the consequences of these identities? And without these identifications, what can undocumented individuals identify as? In this session, we deconstruct the identity politics behind the undocumented label and approach construction towards a positive self-identification.

For many of us, the citizenship process is a long-way ahead. But what exactly does it look like through naturalization? Could a person start engaging with the different requirements of this process? Could the naturalization process be changed to suit the present cultures in the United States? In this presentation we observe these questions and attempt to explore the meaning behind naturalization.

Session 9: Graduate School for Undocumented Students

Higher education after high school was one hurdle, but what about beyond undergrad education? In this session we talk about possible barriers that might affect undocumented student's process towards a graduate school program and what sources of income may benefit their journey. We also talk about what options there are beyond graduate school.
