A Seminar on

Future of vocational education

7.5.2018, 13:00 - 16:00, HAAGA-HELIA, PASILA

Organised by: Vocational Teacher Education Group (2017/2018)

Finland is considered as a model of education in the world. One of the recognised reasons for that is the teachers’ preparation and the universities of applied sciences are crucial for the development of the future pedagogues, mainly in the fields of vocational education. Regulations on education are continuously updating so the challenges to keep in track with the changes are also permanent to ensure quality. Contributing to this quality challenge, the teacher education group of the UAS Haaga-Helia is organising a seminar on Future of Education to discuss the coming challenges of VET in Finland.

The speakers in the seminar are Sanna Penttinen from the Finnish National Agency for Education (Opetushallitus), Nina Lahtinen from the Trade Union of Education (OAJ), and Tia Hoikkala from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. Their topics for discussion are centred on the quality of education in the process of reform.

The seminar on the Future of Vocational Education will take place on Monday 7th of May 2018 from 13.00 to 16.00 in the Pasila campus of Haaga-Helia, Ratapihantie 13, 00520 Helsinki. The event is free but registration to the event is mandatory. Please register by 2.5.21018 (go to Registration). Snacks and coffee will be served.
