Tips & Tricks
- Grab the center early. Push your e and d pawns to clamp the middle, then your knights and bishops swing out with real range.
- Castle by move 8 or so. A king stuck in the center gets shredded once files open up.
- Don't chase the queen out too soon. Develop your minor pieces first, or you'll waste tempo dodging cheap attacks.
- Watch for back-rank mates. Pop a luft (a tiny pawn push) so your king has an escape hatch when rooks start prowling.
