Music played a huge role in my life growing up, and I was fortunate to study with wonderful teachers who challenged, encouraged and inspired me. Music was my community, my creative outlet, and a place where learning felt natural and joyful — and the impact it had on my life ultimately inspired me to pursue it as a career.
I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music performance from the University of North Texas, with emphases in pedagogy, theory, composition, and history. I've been teaching a handful of piano and harp students consistently since I was a freshman in college — but I was able to make teaching my full-time career in 2019, when I started Fundamental Music Studio.
I feel so fortunate to be a part of students' introduction to learning an instrument, and I truly hope to inspire them to be life-long lovers of music!
