 FUMC Salt and Light helps our faith community resist evil, injustice and oppression by promoting nonpartisan civic engagement in local, state and national government.

         Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.  MLK, Jr.

 In Nebraska, we are so fortunate to have allies who are working for human dignity and fairness for all!  Take some time to explore some of these groups and get involved!!

   We hope that members will take advantage of the various non-partisan advocacy groups that can provide up-to-date information on civic matters in our state and ways to advocate for and against. Some of those groups are:

   Silence is not an option.  The very fabric of our families and communities is being threatened, your voice can make a difference!

We expressed our apprecation to state senators who were vocal advocates for trans and reproductive rights.  Thank you cards were signed by many and we vowed to stand by these leaders as they continue to work for human dignity for all!
