Global Teaching Resources:
Along with the Global learning Unit and lesson plans developed for Fulbright TGC, scroll below and you'll find a myriad of ways I've embedded global competencies and strategies into my daily practice this past year:
ISTELive22: I recently had the amazing opportunities to share my Fulbright experience and present at ISTELive22 with two of my national colleagues, Tracey Rowley, Tech Integration Specialist from AZ, and Michelle Singh, CEO of LCTE Learning Solutions from FL; our emphasis was using digital tech tools and virtual experiences to globalize learning. Check out our rad demo video below and our Wakelet of resources!
Future Ready Network: The Future Ready Librarian team is a global network of innovative librarians led by the fabulous Shannon McClintock Miller. I've had the honor of presenting at her national summits and joining her podcast to discuss my Fulbright journey as well as innovation in our Siuslaw school libraries!
Conference Presentations and Collaborations: It brings me joy to share my passion for learning and literacy with colleagues across the country! I love embedding all that I'm learning from Fulbright about global competencies into my K12 library curricular content. It's like a lens that I now view all teaching and learning through!
Siuslaw News Article:
Our community has a FABULOUS local newspaper, The Siuslaw News, that loves to collaborate with our school district. I've written a couple of articles for the paper, and this one in particular was connected to my Global Learning Unit.
"Glocal" Resources: You'll find my favorite "glocal" - local and global - resources below, as well as my sample Global Learning Unit and lesson plans.
Go Local:
The organizations below offer field trips, teacher workshops and curricular materials for bringing the rich cultural diversity of the Oregon Coast into the classroom. I LOVE coordinating and facilitating learning experiences - let me know how I can help you!

Global Learning Unit: "Digital Leadership: Harnessing the Power of Technology and Social Media for Change"
Below you'll find the Global Learning Unit I created for the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms program (2021 Cohort). I teach K12 + PD, and this guide is just a snapshot of globalization implementation in Siuslaw School District via our Library Media Services. Also included are my weekly K12 + PD Library Connection, Siuslaw Virtual Field Trip, and Makerspace slides. We conduct weekly local virtual trips + at least one global trip a month, all focused around a monthly SDG goal. We've also been tying our weekly Makerspace kits to our trips, and we do a "Maker Care" or service project once a month. Reach out if you'd like to collaborate or learn more!
I am super passionate about virtual learning opportunities. I love connecting my school district to our local community and abroad. I conduct both live on site + pre-recorded trips each week. The recordings are then housed on my YouTube channel as well as our library catalogue so that students can use them as primary sources for research.
