The Fulbright Innovation Bootcamp is a 5-day intensive training program designed for high school students to explore human-centered innovation. Through training sessions, team projects, and expert mentorship, students will learn to identify problems, develop creative solutions, and pitch their ideas effectively.
The program emphasizes human-centered design, customer discovery, prototyping, and pitching. Students will develop innovative ideas and present them to experts.

It includes lectures, workshops, team activities, peer learning, mentoring, and a final showcase presentation.
Participants will gain:
Hands-on skills in human-centered innovation
Experience in identifying customer problems and needs
Knowledge in building value propositions and Minimum Viable Product(s)
Practice in team collaboration and public speaking
Exposure to entrepreneurial mindsets and leadership skills

Yes. All students are encouraged to stay in the dormitory to fully engage in team activities, peer learning, and evening reflection sessions.
The primary instruction will be in Vietnamese, but some sessions and materials may include English to introduce students to common innovation and startup terminology.
The bootcamp is led by Dr. Phan Hoàng Lan, Head of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI), with support from experienced innovation officers and guest mentors from the startup ecosystem.
About our master trainer:
Dr. Phan Hoang Lan is a leading expert in innovation and entrepreneurship with over 14 years of experience in policy-making, startup ecosystem development, and innovation training.
She holds a PhD in Business and Design from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) and a Master’s in Development Economics from the University of Oxford (UK). Dr. Lan previously served as Head of Startup Ecosystem Development at the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (NATEC), Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam.
She was also the Co-Lead of the UNDP Accelerator Lab Vietnam, where she worked on applying innovative tools like systems thinking, behavioral insights, and lean startup in the public sector. Dr. Lan is a co-founder and core organizer of TECHFEST Vietnam — the country’s national startup festival — since its inception in 2015.
She co-authored the National Project 844 on supporting Vietnam's startup ecosystem and has trained thousands of educators, students, and public officials across Vietnam. In 2018, she was recognized by Forbes Vietnam’s 30 Under 30 and listed among the Top 100 most influential young leaders in public policy worldwide by Apolitical.
High school students (Grades 9–12) who are curious about entrepreneurship, innovation, and human behavior. Applicants should be proactive, open-minded, and eager to learn.
Yes, international students are welcome, as long as they can attend the program in person in Ho Chi Minh City.
No prior experience is required. The program is designed for beginners with high potential and interest.
