FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is my data uploaded to the cloud?
No. FUEL.SH is local-first. Every fill-up, vehicle, photo, and insight is stored on your device. We do not run servers that hold your fuel history. See the Privacy page for details.
What does the AI feature send out?
When you tap Ask AI or generate an insight or narrative, the app sends a small text payload describing your recent fills, vehicle, units, and your question to the AI provider over an encrypted connection. Photos, location, and personal identifiers are never sent. If you prefer, enable "Use my own AI key" in Settings to route requests through your own AI provider account.
Can I use the app without an internet connection?
Yes. Logging fill-ups, viewing history, charts, maintenance reminders, and export to CSV all work fully offline. AI features need an internet connection because they call an AI provider.
How do I change my units from gallons to liters, or miles to kilometers?
Open Settings, scroll to UNITS, and pick Volume, Distance, Efficiency, and Currency. The change applies immediately across the app. Existing vehicles keep the units they were created with so historical numbers stay numerically correct.
How do I switch the active vehicle?
Tap the vehicle pill at the top of the Dashboard or open the Vehicles tab and select the one you want. The Dashboard, Stats, History, and Ask AI then focus on that vehicle.
How do I delete everything and start over?
Settings, scroll to DATA, tap "Delete All Data," and confirm. This erases every fill, vehicle, insight, maintenance reminder, and receipt photo from the app on this device. The action cannot be undone.
How do I restore a Pro purchase after reinstalling?
Open Settings, tap "Restore Purchases" under the SUBSCRIPTION section. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, find FUEL.SH, and tap Cancel Subscription. Lifetime purchases do not need cancellation.
The receipt scanner did not pick up the right number.
Receipt formats vary widely. Tap the field that is wrong and type the correct value. The scanner is a time-saver, not a replacement for your eyes. If a particular receipt fails consistently, email us a photo and we will improve detection.
