OPENING CEREMONY (PRE-RECORDED)*
This year, the theme of FSM6 is: Celebrating 10 Years of FSM Heroes – Past, Present, and Future. In our opening ceremony and throughout the conference, we will spend time looking at our origins, the present state FSM, and how to evolve in the final 9 years before 2030. Executive Director, Jennifer Williams, will share the FSM Alliance’s perspective on how to move forward after the unprecedented change in our world that we have all experienced in the last 18 months. Earlier this year, we asked you and our FSMA community to nominate the individuals who have impacted you and your work. During the opening, we will get to see who you have chosen as your heroes, introduced by FSM6 Conference Chair, Dr. Konstantina Velkushanova. We will honour and celebrate the FSM Heroes who continue to inspire and catalyse change in the sector in their own way.
DAY 1 01 JUNE
Programmatic Plenary (Pre-Recorded)*
Tuesday 1 June, 2021
PAST - Our Origins: Celebrating with Heroes from FSM1
This plenary session reflects on the origins of FSM, by speaking to key actors, who played a pivotal role in the creation and growth of FSM. We discuss with each of them how they contributed to the FSM conferences, which eventually led to the creation of the FSM Alliance. From the first FSM Conference in 2011 (Durban, South Africa) to 10 years later, we ask each panelist to reflect back on creating this sub-sector and the momentum that’s been built around FSM in the last 10 years.
