Hook:
Ilyas wakes up in a place he is unfamiliar with. As he learns about it and the people that inhabit it he grows closer to the character Einar, the man in charge of looking after him. Eventually the community lets him start working, and he becomes a tentative member of the community as he begins going on scout missions with Einar. He is still not 100% trusted though.
Inciting event (call to action, or refusal of call):
Einar and Ilyas go on a quick mission outdoors, and get caught in an unexpected blizzard. They are forced to stay out overnight. Ilyas gains Einar's trust, and when they are cleared to go out on another mission to fix broken communication lines with another bunker, a student called Dean joins them.
First Plot Point or Key event (where protagonist is committed to the journey):
As the group begins to encounter strange animals and more strange weather, they meet Kymil, a Rime who confirms their suspicions. They take them to their Rime community in an attempt to help them answer their questions. The Rimes refuse to give them any straight answer, instead teasing them with cruel riddles. Kymil stays with the group as they leave.
Second Plot Point, or Midpoint (can be reversal or moment of truth, but there’s no going back from here):
The group meets a strange man called Qwin, and after a horrible ice storm Qwin and Ilyas end up getting separated from the group. While gone, Ilyas figures out he has an ability to take and give heat, he is fearful of this ability. Qwin is the oy other one who knows at this point. The rest of the group make it to another bunker and rest, thinking Qwin and Ilyas dead. They find out Qwin committed a horrible crime. Qwin and Ilyas are found to be alive when they eventually make it to the bunker. Qwin is not welcomed back, but when the group leaves again Ilyas and Kymil insists on taking him with them, despite Ilyas' confusion about why Qwin did what he did.
Third Plot Point (false victory, or failure moment)
Ilyas is getting sick, and refuses to use his powers, still keeping it a secret. They finally arrive at the bunker that they have lost communication with. Qwin and Ilyas talk about what Qwin did, and reconcile. Qwin eventually explains to Einar and Dean what happened before he was cast out. They find Ava who is also looking for the cause of these blizzards, as well as looking for Ilyas. She is a friend of his, and only went looking for the cause because that was the whole reason Ilyas left their village in the first place. She figured she'd find him if they were looking for the same thing. She joins the group.
They find the cause of the blizzards (Petra, an old friend of Einar.) and the bunker she took under control. It was the same bunker that many others have lost communication with. Einar tries to talk to her, but she was tired of talking about things and she attacks. They are forced to flee and Ilyas kills one of the citizens of this bunker by accident with his abilities. He struggles with it, and Ava helps him explain what's going on with him. She explains how his powers work, and she insists he comes back home.
Forth Plot Point (Regrouping)
Ilyas decides he wants to travel back to his home, but not to stay. It takes some convincing but Einar says their bunker is expecting them back anyway, and that it would be a good idea to check in on the way there. The get back to bunker and tell them another bunker seems to be having issues, the leaders of the bunker allow them to go as peace keepers. They call their sister bunker to tell them the news and they agree to send their best with them. They also tell them about where Ava ad Ilyas are from, and agree to try and open up communication with their village. They eventually make it back to Ilyas' and Ava's village. The trip ends poorly, but the village agrees to attempt communication with their bunker.
They go back to the Rime community to talk to them about Petra as other scouts from the bunker begin their trek to Petra. The leader meets them on the edge of their territory. The group is confused, but the leader explains that they knew they were coming back (spies), and that they wanted to save them the trouble of crossing through the Rime Desolate again. They tell them important information about how to subdue Petra, and admit that the Rimes cannot do it without help. They even give Ilyas a little hint about how he used his powers without knowing
Climax (story hangs between values of protagonist & values of antagonist):
They go back to the bunker Petra has taken. Einar tries to talk to her again, but she is too forgone, having figured out how to steal magic from the Rimes, and becoming a mixture of human and Rime, she is worse than she was last time they saw her. Ilyas takes up the front lines and uses his abilities to weaken Petra. He needs to decide if she needs to die, he is not comfortable making the decision, and puts himself in danger. Ava jumps into help, and makes the final blow .
Resolution ( new equilibrium):
The bunker is rebuilt, a few Hard-Bitten villages open communication with the bunkers. Einar attempts to get Qwin a place to live at their bunker, but the bunker is unsure, but doesn't refuse yet. Einar is successful with getting Ilyas a permeant spot, and offers it to him. He is unsure. Ava offers Qwin a place in the village, but Qwin is unsure. Ilyas decides that he will split his time between the bunker and village, and Qwin asks if he can follow him. He agrees. Kymil says they will continue to wander between Rime territory and human territory. Saying that they need to stay moving incase other people need their help, but they wish to stay in the area so that they can watch other their friends when they are out and about.
Qwin is eventually given a spot in the bunker, and stays at Ilyas' and Einar's insistence. Ilyas visits them as often as possible, traveling with Kymil and occasionally Ava between village and bunker, and assisting his both when needed. His travels turn seasonal, staying with his village in the warmer months, and with the bunker in the colder ones. His people are in more danger with him around in the winter, and will do better with one less mouth to feed, while the bunker needs strong people in the winter to continue outside missions, and is at less risk of his abilities when inside a heated bunker.
Everyone finds peace.
