Executive Director
Rachel Weislow
Rachel has dedicated her career to working with youth in historically underserved communities. As an El Paso native and strong advocate, her passion for equal access to education and support for new immigrants transfers into her work with Frontera Arts and Education Collaborative. Prior to working with us, Rachel was an Assistant Principal at a public middle school in Los Angeles. She began her career in public education as an English as a Second Language high school teacher in Boston over ten years ago, then moved to Los Angeles, where she taught middle school Reading, English Language Development, and served as the English Language Development Coordinator for her school. Rachel also spent two years as an Instructional Coach, supporting K-8 teachers in their professional development. Before entering education, Rachel was a lawyer, focusing on public criminal defense. When not at work, Rachel can be found reading a good book, experimenting with different art forms, hanging out with family, or spending time hiking or running.Â
