Express your interest to join the project on the application form by the deadline (2nd August 2024)
To recognise commitment and contribution, participants will be remunerated for their participation in the project. Rooted will also cover all the costs for the in-person gathering, including accommodation, travel to/from the venue, and food and drink.
We ask that you check you are able to attend all the scheduled sessions between 7th August and 25th September before accepting a place. It will be expected that you contribute to and complete all individual and collective activities, these support our collective testing and learning around this experience and journey.
The online sessions will be up to 2 hours once a fortnight. You can expect up to 2 hours independent activities outside of this.
To help make this a nourishing and safe experience for everyone involved, we ask participants to be consistent in showing up for themselves and the group across all elements of the programme. Two of the key asks are:
Be supportive and non-judgemental in both facilitated and self-directed spaces
Honour privacy by not sharing personal stories and information outside of the group.
We are still in the testing phase of this project and will be inviting up to 10 community-based individuals to participate in the 2024 experience.
We will review all applications and make a selection based on the eligibility criteria shared. If oversubscribed we will curate the participants to offer a mix of age, gender, topic of interest.
We will be staying at the beautiful West Lexham, Kings Lynn, Norfolk from 16-18 August 2024. All rooms are private ensuites. Living and dining areas are communal and shared with our group only.
This experience is hybrid with both online and in-person activities. To be able to participate fully we will ask you are able to attend all the sessions.
For the online activities, you will need a relatively quiet space to join from where you are able to fully participate in the conversation and activities, a good internet connection, and ideally a laptop or tablet. We recognise the experience is taking place in the school holidays so will make the online sessions quiet light so it will be possible to take part if you have children with you.
For the in-person retreat you wil need to be able to attend the full retreat and join the activities. We will go on walks and using arts-based activities to reflect and create discussion.
There are also activities you will be asked to do outside the space so we expect you will need 2-4 hours each week to complete these independently.
If any of these items present a blocker to you taking part, please let us know and we can look into arranging appropriate support based on our capabilities and resources.
