Birth is not the end of your journey, it’s the beginning of a new chapter.
The postpartum period deserves just as much care and attention as preconception and pregnancy.
My role is to help you recover, adjust and feel supported as you care for yourself and your new baby.
Every family’s needs are different, and postpartum support is tailored specifically to you.
Postpartum visits may include:
- Emotional support during your transition into parenthood
- Processing your birth experience
- Caring for baby while mom showers, eats, rest or just needs a break
- Newborn care education
- Breastfeeding or infant feeding support within my scope of practice
- Normal newborn behavior education
- Safe sleep education
- Infant soothing techniques
- Babywearing guidance
- Light meal preparation
- Organizing baby supplies and a postpartum station
- Practical household support related to postpartum recovery (getting mom water, something to eat, preparing postpartum materials, etc)
- Education on physical and emotional recovery after birth
- Guidance on recognizing when concerns should be discussed with your healthcare provider
- Encouragement for partner involvement if applicable
- Connecting you with additional local resources when needed
My goal is for you to feel cared for, not just as a parent, but as a whole person.
