Some pictures of the flowers in the wildflower meadow and beyond
A great morning with Tricia from Warwickshire Bat Group. She opened all the bat boxes and whilst we unfortunately didn't find any bats, there was evidence they've been there in the past and we discovered that some of them need replacing. Watch this space as we'll book her again to check the boxes in due course.
Thank you to all the peoople braved the threatening showers to come and join in with Easter Fun at the Pool. There was an Easter Egg hunt, Cake Sale, and hot drinks to keep us warm. It was a time to catch up with old friends and make some new ones. The funds raised are valuable to help Friends of Myton Pool maintain the site and continue to run wildlife events for everyone to enjoy.
Many people joined with us to celebrate the solstice at the Pool. The band was excellent and there was mulled with and mince pies. Father Christmas took time out from his busy schedule to visit as well. Events like these raise valuable funds for Friends of Myton Pool to help with the upkeep of the site. Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this a successful event.
Thank you to everyone who came along to help us do some essential maintence work at the Pool site. We took some dead branches out of the trees, bird boxes were rehung and the new weir fence was strengthened. Following the hard work we all had a hot drink and some lovely homemade cakes, thanks to Maureen and Lynn.
Bake Sale, Scavenger Hunt and Facepainting November 1st 2023
Thank you to all who came to the event which was well supported. We all had fun and ate too much cake while raising valuable funds for Friends of Myton Pool.
Wildflower Meadow
Any recent visitors to Myton Pool will notice that the top half of the Wildflower meadow was cut and cleared. Thanks you to the strimmers and clearers for all their hard work. The grass that was cleared was put on our 'brash' pile, where over time it will decompose. The brash pile is also a valuable wildlife habitate, where creatures can hibernate over winter. While the strimming and clearing was going on a number of insects and toads found and they were carefully relocated.
New Fence - a new fence has been costructed from natural materials from the Pool area, to protect the recently planted Butchers Broom Plants and to make the weir safe.
Thank you so much to eveeryone who attended the Bat Night on the 23rd September. There was a great turn our plenty of bat dectors clicking away, bats were spotted and hot chocolate, cakes and sausage rolls were consumed. It was a great success! Thanks also to Warwickshire Wildlife trust and FROMP Volunteers for delivering such an excellent event.

Wood Carvings in Bluebell Wood
If you go down to Bluebell Wood you will see some new woodland creatures have taken up residence. The fallen trunk of a Willow has become home to a hedgehog, owl and a dragon. Take a walk around the site to meet these new additions.
Minibeast hunting and Den Building Event - 31st May 2023
We all had a lovely time in Bluebell Wood firstly looking for and identifying the little creatures that bugs that live in the woods, then gathering together branches and twigs for den building. We all enjoyed gathering together for refreshments after the hard work was done. Thanks go to Warwickshire Wildlife Trust for leading this event.
To Celebrate the King's Coronation FROMP organised a street party where all the Friends and Neighbours could get together. The sun shone and everyone had a good time and some funds were raised for Myton Pool
