There are many places in our community that are doing important work and many ways that you can be of service to others. These organizations below are additional opportunities for you to put your faith into action in our local community. We invite you to look into their needs and assist as you are able.

Eras Senior Network

Eras' mission is to engage and support seniors, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers in leading meaningful lives.

How you can help:

Eras is looking for volunteers to help us decorate 10,000 holiday and birthday cards that will be mailed to our clients throughout the year.

Does your family or a group of friends want to decorate special greeting cards for Eras? Cards come in bundles of 25, and you will receive decorating instructions.

SENIORS AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES IN WAUKESHA COUNTY ALSO NEED:

- Outdoor yard projects for seniors in late April and May (perfect for 2-3 people at a time) and in October and November

- Picking up and delivering food

- Giving rides for essential healthcare appointments

- Wellness calls for seniors

The Hope Center

The Hope Center's mission is to reduce the risks of poverty by helping people in Waukesha County meet basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing through services, partnerships and community collaboration.

How you can help:

1) Make a monetary donation online HERE

2) Drop off donations. Check out their Donation Request List or This Week's Needs. Please note that donations are by appointment only and there's a limit of 5 bags or boxes. Their top 3 needs are: deodorant, body wash and shaving cream.

3) In addition to their other requests/needs, one item they are looking for is trays from Sam's Club. If you would like to purchase and donate those, HERE is the specific type of tray they need.

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin

LSS's mission is to act compassionately, serve humbly and lead courageously. They provide quality services for: a child in crisis with no one to turn to, a family in turmoil, a loved one struggling with mental health or addiction, an elderly person or a person with a disability needing support to live independently and successfully in the community, or a refugee who is fleeing from war and persecution.

How you can help:

They have created a LSS Response Fund to help their counselors provide direct support to the over 5,000 people who rely on LSS today. They have a fundraising goal of $25,000 and have already raised over $20,000. If you'd like to donate, click here.

The Women's Center

The Women’s Center serves women, children, and men impacted by domestic abuse, sexual violence, child abuse, and trafficking. The Women’s Center’s core philosophy is to ensure that the needs of survivors are met, that children are protected, and that families heal and lead lives free of violence. Our programs are centered on meeting the unique needs of each client and are designed to empower while providing basic needs (food, shelter, clothing, and transportation).

Waukesha Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Lutheran World Relief

Lutheran World Relief's mission is "affirming God’s love for all people, we work with Lutherans and partners around the world to end poverty, injustice and human suffering." They work with people based on need, regardless of race, religion or nationality and they do not evangelize. They provide aid in emergencies and help families restore their lives. They partner with communities to build and grow rural economies. They break the cycle of poverty, so families and communities can thrive.
