Burnout Defense Exercise

This burnout defense exercise is provided complements of Dr. Cirecie West-Olatunji.

Step 1: Before you experience burnout take time to develop your burnout defense tools.

Step 2: Imagine that you have a backpack you will carry with you through the day. Anytime you are confronted with job-related stress incidents you will reach into your backpack. You will pull out a tool, deploy the tool, and the stress-trigger will be neutralized.

Step 3: Fill your backpack. Take time to identify and pack your backpack with proven stress-reducing tactics. Put in five. Put in ten. Put in more if you have them. They all have the power of neutralizing a stress incident. Stock up.

Step 4: Remember. Any tool in your backpack can neutralize job-related stress triggers. Get going.
