Many proteins exhibit therapeutic potential and biospecific activity, making them attractive candidates for pharmaceutical applications. However, the clinical use of such therapeutic proteins is often limited by the challenges associated with safe and efficient delivery. In particular, intracellular delivery of proteins remains difficult due to their large molecular size and the poor permeability of the plasma membrane.
To address these challenges, we have developed molecular transporters capable of delivering protein cargos through non-covalent association. In addition to intracellular delivery, we are actively investigating transdermal delivery strategies for both proteins and small-molecule drugs, aiming to improve therapeutic access and efficacy in the treatment of various diseases.
