After watching this video, continue to How to Catch.
Tips and Tricks
If your throws are wobbly try putting more wrist snap on the disk
If your throws go up and then come back make sure you are releasing the disk directly to your partner while making sure the disk is parallel to the ground.
Watch videos How to Catch and How to Throw a Backhand. Then go outside and practice throwing and catching backhands. Have the girls throw with a partner or a small group. The girls should be standing about five to ten feet apart from one another.
Tips and Tricks
Make sure to try and use the pancake as much as possible
Watch the disc into your hands
After watching this video, go back outside. Have the girls get back into their groups to start getting comfortable with throwing flicks.
Tips and Tricks
Again, if your flicks are wobbly make sure to be putting lots of spin on the disk by flicking your wrist
Make sure that you also have a good grip on the disk when throwing
Troop leaders, please take note that it may take a very long time to get a consistent flick and if the girls want to keep improving they will have to practice outside of this one meeting. Make sure that the girls aren’t getting discouraged as this is a very tricky thing to achieve, but if this is something that they really want to continue working on then they may want to consider continuing to learn with YULA or an afterschool club.
