Head Coach of Girls’ Lacrosse
Masters Academy International
Sports have been a major influence throughout Abbey’s life. Growing up as a multi-sport athlete, she competed in Soccer, Ice Hockey, and upon reaching high school, Lacrosse.
She enjoyed a successful playing career in all three sports and was inducted into the inaugural Framingham High School Hall of Fame in 2019. Abbey began her collegiate career as a dual-sport athlete at Central Connecticut State University, playing both soccer and lacrosse, before finishing at UMass Amherst. Always a student of the game, she took every opportunity to learn and grow in her sport.
Abbey began coaching while still in college and never stopped. Following graduation, she was named the first assistant at Bentley University and, the next season, head coach at Assumption University. She spent ten years coaching in Worcester, followed by one season at Holy Cross. Throughout her college-coaching career, she also served as recruiting coordinator and coach with Boston Laxachusetts, where she is now a Director.
In 2017, Abbey was named head coach of the Boston Storm in the UWLX, the first women’s professional lacrosse league, and led the team to a championship in 2018. Her passion on and off the field, along with her deep love for lacrosse, drives her to be better every day for her coaching colleagues and players.
Abbey considers herself fortunate to have a career she truly loves. She is a players-first coach who is ready to do whatever is needed to better the team, leading with high energy, passion, joy, grit, and a team-first philosophy.
