About Us

The restaurant industry is an odd mixture of talented misfits. Friends and Family Meal is run entirely by hospitality professionals whose bars and restaurants are closed due to COVID-19. Below are the people behind the organization.

Morgan Stana

Morgan grew up on a big farm in a small town, which drives her passion for fresh, local food. She fell in love with the restaurant industry early and rarely looked back. After falling in love with DC, she made the move here where she has worked at some of the most acclaimed restaurants in the district. Her adoration of flavors and hospitality combined in a way that made her most comfortable delving into DC's craft cocktail scene where she has found her home. Now, she's putting her energy into helping as many of her community as possible during COVID-19.

Mike Alves

Son of an immigrant father, Mike is one of six kids and native to Queens, NY. When his father left, they relied heavily on government assistance to get by. More than anything, eating dinner as a group kept his family together, and ultimately, that ritual would motivate him to work in hospitality. While he holds a couple of college degrees and has finished an Ironman, the resourcefulness he learned from surviving restaurant services was what best prepared him to help his community in these tough times.

Christian Irabién

Social Media Outreach

Chef Christian Irabién was born and raised in Mexico and is a long-time resident of the DC area and is an active advocate in different social justice and humanitarian efforts that directly affect the hospitality industry and the LatAm immigrant communities.

Andrea Tateosian

Operations Maven

"Drea" is President of the DC Craft Bartenders Guild. She loves people, food, and putting those two things together whenever possible.

Linda Jockers

Head Scout

Our primary ranged character, Linda is not afraid of getting her hands dirty but that doesn’t stop her from wearing gloves and washing her hands for 30 seconds.

Amal Alkadi

Distribution Lead

smol goblin, will punch a ghost for you, skills include making a lopsided heart in a latte and being a little to invested in pupusas.

Chad Vickers

Grant Writing

Chad sat at home without work for all of two days before he started stress-cooking homemade pasta and shepherd’s pie…If Friends & Family Meal doesn’t work out then he is going to run out of ingredients and probably lose his mind… so for now he is writing grants!

Britt Ingalls is a queer woman with a winding career path and a penchant for inhabiting traditionally male positions. She now finds a deep sense of enjoyment, community, and empowerment behind the bar.
